The entry a family actually uses takes more punishment than the front door ever does. This mudroom was rebuilt around floor-to-ceiling built-in cabinetry, with a timber bench between the two runs and space underneath for boots and baskets.
A soft sage finish keeps it from feeling like a utility room, and a hard-wearing tiled floor means it still looks right after a winter of wet coats.
